A Journey of Hope: FOMWAN Lagos Welcomes the Freedom of Adopted Inmate

The Federation of Muslim Women’s Associations in Nigeria (FOMWAN), Lagos State Chapter, is deeply grateful to Allah for yet another milestone in our mission of compassion and service. On Monday, 29th December 2025, at exactly 5:25 pm, our adopted inmate, Mr. Tunde Balogun, was officially released from the Kirikiri Correctional Centre.

This moment was not just about regaining freedom—it was a testament to the power of faith, advocacy, and collective support. The Comptroller General handed Mr. Balogun over to the FOMWAN Education Committee and sisters from the Amuwo Odofin LGA branch, who received him with heartfelt prayers and words of encouragement.

In line with our commitment to rehabilitation and reintegration, the committee ensured his safe journey back to his hometown in Akure, Ondo State, by covering his transportation fare. Before his departure, he was lovingly counselled to embrace a life of discipline, to shun all acts of criminality, and to remain steadfast in observing his daily salat.

This act of compassion reflects FOMWAN’s dedication to not only supporting women and children but also extending mercy and guidance to those seeking a second chance. We remain grateful to the Lagos State Government and the correctional officials for their cooperation and support in making this possible.

As Mr. Balogun begins this new chapter, we pray that Almighty Allah grants him a safe trip, blesses his path, and continues to guide him in all his endeavours. Allahumma Ameen.
