FOMWAN Lagos Joins Mega Press Conference to Condemn Genocide in Gaza

On Thursday, August 7, 2025, the Federation of Muslim Women’s Associations in Nigeria (FOMWAN) Lagos State chapter joined forces with other prominent Muslim organisations at the TMC Da’wah Centre, Ijeshatedo, for a historic Mega Press Conference on the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

The event, organised under the Ulamau Wing of the Conference of Islamic Organisations (CIO), brought together respected Islamic scholars, community leaders, and representatives to speak with one voice against the humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in Palestine.

Chairman of the Ulamau Wing and National Missioner of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Sheikh AbdurRahman Ahmad, delivered a powerful address, describing the war on Gaza as “a calculated act of genocide” and urging the Muslim Ummah and the global community to take urgent and united action. He called on world powers to impose sanctions, halt arms supplies, and sever diplomatic ties with Israel until the occupation ends.

A representative of the Gaza community in Nigeria, Abu Ibrahim Bn Ibrahim, also gave an emotional speech, sharing the devastating personal loss of burying 45 family members and appealing for boycotts, sanctions, and stronger support from Muslim leaders worldwide.

FOMWAN Lagos proudly stood in solidarity at the conference, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to advocating for justice, peace, and the protection of innocent lives in Gaza and across the world.

May Allah intervene swiftly and grant our Muslim brothers and sisters victory over the enemies of peace. Aamiin, Ya Rabb.
