FOMWAN Lagos Marks 40th Anniversary with Donation to LASUTH

In a heartfelt gesture of compassion and community service, the Lagos State chapter of the Federation of Muslim Women’s Associations in Nigeria (FOMWAN) commemorated its 40th anniversary with a charitable donation to Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).

The presentation took place at Ayinke House, the maternity wing of the hospital, where the association donated a total of 50 bedsheets—40 designated for nursing mothers and 10 for newborn babies. The initiative was aimed at enhancing the comfort and well-being of patients receiving care at the facility.

In addition to the bedsheets, FOMWAN also donated 10 packs of bottled water to mark this year’s World Water Day, reinforcing the importance of access to clean and safe water in healthcare settings.

Speaking during the presentation, representatives of FOMWAN Lagos emphasized that the outreach reflects the organization’s longstanding commitment to humanitarian service, particularly in supporting maternal and child health. They noted that the dual celebration of their 40th anniversary and World Water Day provided a meaningful opportunity to give back to the community.

Hospital officials at Ayinke House expressed appreciation for the donation, describing it as timely and impactful. They commended FOMWAN for its continued support and dedication to improving healthcare experiences for mothers and their babies.

The event highlights FOMWAN’s enduring legacy of service and its role in promoting welfare initiatives across Lagos State.
